Frequently Asked Questions
If you don't see your question below, please feel free to contact me.
What does a session include?
Your session will include four interactive workshops of your choosing. You'll also receive a personalized package for resources in your area, including local programs, breastfeeding clinics, paediatricians, and much more.
What areas of Ottawa do you serve?
Soft Landings serves Ottawa, Ontario and its surrounding areas.
Who usually attends a session?
A session usually includes you and your partner, but can include an alternate support person if he/she is not available. For more people, such as friends, grandparents or caregivers, please contact me regarding group rates.
When should I book a session?
Clients usually book a session between 20 and 35 weeks, as you are probably starting to make baby-related purchases and hopefully, feeling a bit more energized than in months past.
How do I book a session?
To book a session, contact Soft Landings via email or phone (613-513-8519). Because sessions are held in your home, at a time that suits you, we'll work to find a time that is most convenient.
Once we've agreed on a time, you'll receive an email confirming your session time, location and the workshops you've chosen.
You can then pay for your Soft Landings session by cash or personal cheque at the beginning of your session.
What is the fee for a session?
A session fee is $85 CDN. Payment can be made by cash or personal cheque at the beginning of your session.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions are held in your home, at a time of your choosing. If holding the session in your home is not an option, we will find a comfortable place to meet in your area.
What is I need to reschedule or cancel my session?
A session runs about 2 hours, depending on the workshops that you choose.
We're adopting, would a session be worthwhile?
Certainly! Soft Landings sessions provide information from birth to one-year of age, depending on the topics you choose. We welcome all forms of families looking for information to help them make the best choices for their family.
This is our second child, is it worth taking a session?
If your children will be three years apart or more, you may find it beneficial to take a refresher session. Recommendations for baby care and first foods change over time, as do options for bigger purchases such as car seats. We offer a Parenting Tune-Up course for parents who are looking to learn what's changed and want a refresher on basic baby care.
My friend and I are both expecting, can we share a session?
Group sessions are available at a discounted price. Note that group sessions tend to take a little bit longer, depending on the number of people. Please contact me directly for more information and group session fees.
Can I give a session as a gift?
Yes. A session can be purchased on someone else's behalf. The gift recipient will then choose their workshop options.
A printable, electronic gift certificate will be emailed to you after purchase.
